CJ is an up and coming Midget
racer from Southern California, and the son of former Midget racing stand-out and 1994 USAC Western States Midget Series Rookie
of the Year, John Sarna. John retired in early 2007, after the father and son team completed a very successful 2006 campaign,
finishing 2nd and 5th respectfully in the Arizona Midget Racing Association Series. Although John
is retired from the seat, he is very much involved in managing CJ’s prospering career. In 2007, John devoted all of
his resources to his sons racing program. For his efforts, the proud father was rewarded handsomely when CJ duplicated his
fathers 1994 feat, claiming the 2007 USAC Western Midget Series Rookie of the Year honors.
At just 17, CJ has shown
great potential and is well respected by his peers. A high school Senior at Palm Desert High School in Palm Desert, California,
CJ is an excellent student and very career minded. Although he aspires to race professionally, he keeps up with his studies,
carries a 3.0 GPA and has a plan should things not work out with a career in racing. A multi-time Champion in Quarter Midgets,
CJ already has 11 years of racing experience. In addition to his skill behind the wheel, CJ has a great aptitude for understanding
how the car works and regularly performs the between race maintenance.
